Movin On Up

Goodbye, crib; hello, big girl bed.

That's right, the news of the day is that Harper has left behind the strict confines of the crib and has made her way to the less strict and improvised confines of the big girl bed (with an added on bed rail).

But details aside, it's the spirit of the move that matters. She's in her big girl bed in her big girl room and has made the transition with flying colors.

We're not sure when this move is normally supposed to occur but we feel pretty sure we're a little late. She had started looking so big in her little crib and now she looks so little in her big bed. For parents who are given to fits of sentimentality, it's nice to see her as little again. Or still.

The bed rail, of course, is meant to keep her from a traumatizing mid-sleep fall onto the floor, but it may be that the caging is having a deeper effect on her. When we asked what she was going to teach her little brother or sister Harper answered, "To run free...like a dog."

Stay tuned for the removal of the bed rail. In the meantime, here's some assorted cuteness and Harper petting a stingray.

From your friends in Nashville and their little freedom fighter in training, have a great week.
